Placement Guarantee Deposit
In order to guarantee a place in the School for your child (or children) for the forthcoming academic year, you will be asked to pay a Place Guarantee Deposit of SR2,500 per child. This sum will apply both to students returning to the School and to those joining it for the first time and to whom offers of places have been made. If you have more than two children in the School, the deposit will be SR2,000 per child.
The deposit is non-refundable/ non-transferable, but once paid will be deducted from the invoice for the first term's fees for the forthcoming academic year.
The Place Guarantee Deposit system will not apply to the Salwa Section, except for those children currently in Year 5 who will be moving to year 6 at the Main Site in September.
Please Note:
Invoices are sent before the end of the current academic term or following acceptance of a place for a new child joining the School during the term. Unfortunately, misplacement or non-receipt of the original invoice cannot be considered a valid reason for failure to pay the fees by the due date.
Fees must be paid in full prior to the admission date offered to your child or prior to the first day of term.
The full term’s fees are due if your child joins the School during the first half of the term, i.e. before the half term break.
If a pupil is withdrawn from School after half term, no refund of fees will be made. If a pupil is withdrawn from School before half term, a refund of half a term’s fees will be made provided notice of withdrawal has been given to the Registrar in writing prior to the withdrawal.
The school would much prefer not to handle cash payments of fees and strongly encourages parents to pay directly through the banking system. Cheques should be made payable to - “ SAIS - British Section”. Payments can be made directly into our bank account with Saudi British Bank, Riyadh, Main Branch, Account No 001 051440017. Please send/fax the tear off part of the invoice as confirmation of payment in order that a receipt can be issued by the School.
Ensuring that the school fees are paid on time is your responsibility. If you have an agreement with your company that it will pay fees on your behalf, please ensure that the company is aware of the date by which the School must receive payment.
BOOK DEPOSIT
A single, refundable, deposit is required to cover the return of books and materials on the following sliding scale:
Foundation SR500
Key Stage 1 & 2SR1,000
Key Stages 3,4 & 5 SR1,500
The charge applies to the eldest child ONLY in a family. Each top-up of SR 500 is payable as the eldest pupil progresses into the next relevant level. The deposit will be repaid, less any deductions for damaged or lost items, when the family no longer has a child at the School.
RE-REGISTRATION
If a place is required for the following academic year, the parents of children already in School will be requested to re-register during the Spring Term. No further registration fee will be payable. However, a Seat Deposit of SR5,000 per child is required to secure a child's place for the coming year. This is a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit, but once paid will be deducted from the first term's fees.
The registration fee is payable again if a pupil has been away from School for three clear terms.
Any child for whom fees have not been paid, or who has not returned for the commencement of the new academic year, will be deemed to have left the school.
In order to re-gain entry in these circumstances it will be necessary to complete initial registration procedures again.
REMINDER
Parents are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure that all fees are paid, even when employers undertake to pay such fees on their behalf. Admission to, or retention in the School is conditional on acceptance of the above Terms and Conditions.
The Board of Governors of the British International School reserve the right to amend these conditions as and when the need arises.
SIBLING DISCOUNT
The sibling discount scheme takes the form of a discount of SR700 per term for the third child and SR1,000 for the fourth and any subsequent children.
