Advice to Parents – Main School and Salwa Section

Thank you for your interest in our School. You will have accessed the necessary forms or the registrar will have provided you with the appropriate registration forms and information about the British International School. To assist you with your application and avoid delays in the registration process, the following information may be useful.

Your child/children will need to have a good command of both spoken and written English to be able to access the curriculum.

If space is available in the appropriate year group, students applying for entry are invited to an assessment before a place can be offered. To assist us in our assessment of your child’s/children’s abilities, we require a copy of their most recent school report/s.

Carry these documents in your personal luggage, if travelling to the Kingdom from abroad. A test appointment can only be arranged once we are in possession of these reports.

Priority is given to children holding British and Dutch passports. However, an offer of acceptance is dependent on your child/children being able to meet the necessary requirements for admission to the School. Please contact us if you require more information.

Please ensure that you complete all sections of the registration documents, including the Medical Form. Questions or sections left blank may result in delays in processing your application.

It is advisable to have your child’s/children’s medical/s carried out before travelling to the Kingdom from abroad. Remember to carry these documents in your personal luggage.

We advise that you register your child/children early for the start of the academic year. We open our registration on the 1st March for our September intake. Children registered for September are asessed from the begining of May, if they are in Kingdom.

The School Office closes for July and opens again 5th September. Assessments will not begin until the 12th September. Once your child/children have been assessed, processing the application usually takes one or two days. However, due to the high number of applications at this time of the year, this process may take slightly longer. Please be assured that we will endeavour to process your application/s as quickly as possible. We look forward to meeting you and hope to welcome your child/children to the School.

Tours of the Main School

Tours of the school will be offered to all prospective parents on Sundays starting at 9:00am sharp and concluding at 10:00am.

If a tour is required, please contact the school. It is essential that your name is registered with security, so that you have access to the school.

Please bring photo ID on the day of the tour.

WE WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONTACT THE REGISTRAR DIRECTLY BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR CHILD/ CHILDREN.  THE REGISTRAR WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.
