LEARNING SUPPORT

The British International School, Riyadh, is equipped only to cater for children with mild to moderate learning needs.  We do not have the resources or staffing to look after the needs of children who have significant learning difficulties or who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

From September 2010, we will have an EAL programme in the secondary section to help students for whom English is not their first language.  However, we cannot take on students who either know very little English or do not have some understanding of the language.

We will not accept children with significant learning needs or emotional and behavioural difficulties into the School because it is not in their interests to attend a school where they cannot receive the specialist help they require.  If parents feel that there is doubt about whether or not the School can cope with their child and his or her needs, they should consult with the School before they make arrangements to move out to Saudi Arabia.
