Robotics began as an activity in October 2007 and proved to be popular with the students.
A team was entered for the national First Lego League (FLL) competition in January 2008 and was successful
in gaining the award for Best Research. In May 2008 two teams were entered for the national Robocup: a male
and a female team.
The girls' team won the female tournament and should have represented Saudi Arabia at the World Robocup Junior Championship in China during the Olympic Games.
Unfortunately, because the team was not made up of Saudi nationals they were not allowed to represent the country - this honour fell to the team in second place.
