The aim of this trip is to provide an exciting opportunity for our GCSE and AS Level Geography students to complete the field work component of their courses. The work provides a valuable practical addition to their geographical knowledge. Tasks such as data collection and the production of fieldwork reports are compulsory elements of each examination syllabus.
This year, our group was accompanied by Mrs Abbott and Mr Banks and took place between the 4th and 10th February and visited the Kritou Terra Environmental Studies Centre near Paphos, Cyprus. The Director of Studies and staff at this centre are already known by members of BISR staff and more than 3,000 students from 14 countries have used the centre since it started in 2002.
