The Clinic is staffed by experienced qualified nurses, with two nurses on duty each day. The Clinic provides a holistic care service, caring for pupils and staff including volunteers. Clinic staff are also available to give advice to parents if they call into the clinic and also by phone.
On a day to day basis the Clinic offers an open door policy for pupils and staff. Staff and pupils can come for assessment, treatment and referral to doctor or hospital if necessary due to accident, injury or illness.
Because of this, it is very important that the Clinic staff have up to date information regarding pupils. Parents are asked to inform the clinic in the event of a new medical condition developing, and informing the clinic of any changes to their child or children's current medical conditions.
Ensuring that your consent and contact details at school are kept up to date, is essential in the event of your child requiring referral for medical attention outside the school.
Parents need to be aware that if their child becomes ill, they have to collect him/her as soon as possible.
The nurses in the clinic are also involved in promoting health education in the school. Each term, head and foot checks are carried out and parents are contacted if necessary
