Gold Award Students Trip to Nepal 2010

After six months of hard fundraising, the International Award’s Gold Group left for their residential trip to Nepal in November 2010. The purpose of this part of their award was to spend time away from home on a shared activity with people they had never met before. The 7 students, with the help of the Award leaders, school staff, other pupils and the parents, managed to raise a staggering $20,000 to donate to three orphanages in Nepal. In turn these orphanages welcomed the BISR students into their orphanages as volunteers for 5 days.

BISR will be continuing these valuable links we have established in Nepal. This years Year 12 are being given the opportunity to fundraise for, and visit, the orphanages in November 2011.
