International Schools Sports League - Riyadh (ISSL-R)
The school's impressive sports facilities are used throughout the year to host tournaments as part of the ISSL-R, of which BISR is a member.
The league enables pupils from International schools in Riyadh to compete in a wide range of sporting activities. These include football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, cricket, swimming, table tennis and badminton.
At various times throughout the season, the British International School hosts tournaments in the following sports:

Sports Days/ Swimming Galas
Throughout the year, pupils compete against each other in the annual sports days and swimming galas utilitising our impressive facilities.
Brtitish Schools inthe Middle East (BSME) Games
Pupils from Years 5 & 6 have the opportunity to represent the school at the BSME Junior (Under 11) Games. The event is designed to bring member schools together to compete in a number of sports, and for children in the schools to meet and make friends with other children in British Schools around the Middle East.
Sports in the BSME games include swimming, athletics, netball, soccer and basketball. The BSME Junior games help our pupils to understand the value of healthy competition as well as providing a learning experience in sportsmanship. Click here to see our trip to Cairo in 2010.
The BSME games programme is expanding with the introduction of the Under 15 event to be held in Bahrain in 2010.
Sports Extra Curricular/ After School activities
The pupils are offered an extensive range of extra-curricular sports clubs utilising the facilities within the school. Presently, the school offers extra-curricular sport in football, gymnastics, basketball, table-tennis, badminton, volleyball, cricket, rounders and swimming. The school has its own successful "Tiger Sharks' swim team who train every evening and compete in both regional and national competitions.
